Much like in Italy, your pizza at Postino is made by Italian chefs, using Italian flour and Italian cured meats. It even comes with a charming Italian accent.

Owners Alex Booth and Rainer Patterson foster an atmosphere like that of a nonna’s dining room. There are plenty of personal touches. A red Vespa greets you out the front, referencing Il Postino (The Postman), the Italian movie the restaurant was named after.

On the way in, you get a view of the pizza production as the Italian chefs effortlessly toss, spread and garnish. The 72-hour pizza dough is puffed and charred in a three-tonne wood-fired oven shipped over from Naples.

The menu features quintessential Italian pizzas (gluten-free bases are available) and follows the Italian communal spirit with many sharing options, including an antipasto board. The homemade gnocchi is also a favourite among regulars. Take your meal in the comfort of the restaurant or courtyard with a red or white wine, or pick up to take home.

Never to forget the Italian fondness for coffee, Postino uses beans from Axil Coffee Roasters. The coffee window is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings so you can grab one on the go.
