Batch is a New Zealander’s home away from home in Balaclava, courtesy of expat owner Jason Chan.
Often there's a stash of New Zealand lollies found lurking in the Batch fridge. It’s a rare Kiwi visitor who doesn’t feel at home eyeing these and sipping on a Coffee Supreme brew (Supreme developed a "South" blend specifically for Batch).
Once you’ve had your caffeine fix, make the most of the Batch experience by kicking back with a cold beer or a crisp glass of white from Marlborough.
It can be tricky to find a seat, so be prepared to wait – especially on a Saturday morning. But it’s worth it, because then you can relax over a brunch that could be anything from the famous kedgeree (rice and smoked fish) to a salad bursting with inspired seasonal combinations.
