It’s no longer a secret that Lichen Kemp and Jitske Wiersma – the ladies behind Sunday Morning Designs – know their stuff when it comes creating homewares that skirt both the whimsical and childlike.
The designers will be opening a pop-up shop just in time for the Christmas shopping rush, with their curated collection of bedding, melamine plates, cute kitchenware and more making perfect stocking stuffers for the coming holiday season. The store will also stock locally made wares from Melbourne designers including Tinker printed designs, jewellery featuring illustrations by artist Dylan Martorell (who is also part of the Sunday Morning team) and accessories by LoveHate.
Sunday Morning Designs create their greeting cards, clothing and bedding in-house, using manufacturers within a 30-kilometre radius of their Brunswick studio. Meanwhile, much of their stock from the Sunday Finds series has been sourced from their travels around Southeast Asia (the animal masks had to be carried on board in hand luggage), so really, they’ve done all the hard work for you.
Head over to their pop-up shop on Lygon Street in Brunswick East, running from November 17 right up until Christmas. It sure will beat traipsing through your local mall.
Sunday Morning Designs will also be making an appearance at Markit @ Fed Square on Sunday November 25 from 10am to 5pm.
