I always thought it’d be nice to be able to make a piece of furniture for my own home. It seems simple, right? You buy some wood, cut it to size, sand it down, polish it, put it together. You get that handmade touch and that hard work feel. But by the time you’ve got all the bits and pieces and time you need, you could have just bought a nice wooden piece from the guys at The Order.

And sure, that’s not the point when you want to make it yourself, but it sure does suffice as an alternative when you need to kit your patio out with a nice table for that summer soiree.

So The Order have set up a pop-up shop for the next couple of weeks in Curtin House. The collection consists of classic solid tables, bench seats, stackable chairs and a limited range of Danish-inspired chairs. Each piece is individually made in various materials and finishes – laminated (Levi range), whitewash (Willow range) and natural teak (Miki range).

It’s all very straightforward. Tables are 200cm x 90cm, benches fit around them, as do a limited range of chairs. Tables are $1500, benches $550 and a limited range of chairs to clear starting from $200 to $250.

The Order are currently developing their range to include homewares to compliment their outdoor environments, but currently this small, affordable collection of furniture is the core range at and is available at the pop-up.
