Whether it’s the lively daytime acts, the sunset mood setters or early morning dance floor sessions you’re looking forward to most, the seventh Golden Plains is tailored to a range of musical sensibilities.

So if you are one of the lucky few to sweat it out at the famous Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre this long weekend, we recommend you make the most of your time by getting involved in all of the music and activities on offer.

Shake your hips to the sounds of Moodymann, Julio Bashmore and Flume; soak up the brilliance of Dinosaur Jr. and Cat Power; and be sure to support the local talents of No Zu, Zanzibar Chanel and Post Percy, all while keeping yourself sustained at the Pink Flamingo Bar.

Of course, we trust anything coming from the stage will be nothing short of electric, but if you’re looking for something a little different at Golden Plains this year, we suggest stopping by the Ecoplex Cinema. Located at the edge of ‘Africa’ (a grove of manna gums with a big outdoor screen), the Ecoplex Cinema is an ideal escape from the crowds. Many of the films are shorts, so you can drop in anytime after 9pm and catch the drift, well into the morning.

While there are no session times, we recommend trying to catch some of our favourites, including Free Radicals: A History of Experimental Film, Cosmic Slop and Carousel Versus Macroscope.

One of the few festivals with a distinct natural charm, it’s all the range of unique events on offer that makes the Golden Plains experience worth your while.

All tickets for Golden Plains are now sold out.
