First established in 1973, The Ian Potter Museum of Art is one of Australia’s leading university art museums, housing the University of Melbourne’s extensive art collection. From classical antiquity to contemporary art, the gallery presents a diverse range of both Australian and international art.

Designed by one of Melbourne's leading contemporary architects, Nonda Katsalidis, the gallery holds works by celebrated Australian artists, as well as the Leonhard Adam Collection, which contains Indigenous artworks from Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Asia, America and Africa.

As well as exhibitions, The Potter hosts lectures, classes, musical performances, film screenings and membership events. You can find the latest listing of events on the museum’s website.
