The Design Files has long served as a virtual inspiration hub for interior design buffs and home renovators, so the announcement that the celebrated blog will recreate its presence in the physical domain is exciting to say the least.
The pop-up shop will be set up in a residential home in Fitzroy from December 1–4, creating an open house for all things design. The space will be adorned with artwork, homewares, lighting, bedding, furniture and books by local designers and artists. All items will be available for purchase on the spot.
Some highlights include the more permanent (yet still purchasable) fixtures by official furniture partner Jardan, suave bathroom and kitchen manufacturer Rogerseller and a display parked in the garage by MINI.
Heralding this as cause for celebration, the house will be completed by a roof deck café courtesy of Coffee Supreme, a flower stall by Joost Bakker and live cooking demonstrations in-house.
For those hesitant to the leave their own home, The Design Files will be running an associated online store running from December 5–18 featuring the same offering of products.
With the location under wraps until November, we’ll be back to report on this again closer to the date. Stay tuned.
The Design Files open house will be run December 1–4 from 10am–5pm daily. The online store will be up December 5–18.
