Update (Tuesday, 29 January 2019): This competition is now closed. Broadsheet would like to thank all who entered, and will contact the winner on Wednesday 30 January.
It’s not your average yoga studio.
We want you to experience a truly unique workout. On Wednesday 30 January and Thursday 31 January at 6pm, in the galleries of the NGV, a Lululemon yoga teacher will lead two classes through an hour-long session, from warm-ups through to cool downs, against the backdrop of the gallery’s impressive permanent collection.
Each of these two exclusive classes accommodates just 30 participants, and you’ll need to enter below for the chance to be one of them.
All you need to bring, if you’re lucky enough to win a spot, is your comfiest athleisure ensemble to change into for the class – the rest is taken care of. As a gift from Lululemon, each participant will be the recipient of a Reversible Yoga Mat, valued at $69, to take home.
There are almost 80,000 works in the NGV’s permanent collection, dating from the second millennium BCE to the year 2018 AD. The collection includes European paintings from the 18th century, an extensive indigenous art collection, ceramics, engravings, films, chairs, Picasso, Warhol, Emin and Gabori, just to name a few. At any given time, between 2500 and 3000 artworks are on show while the rest are tucked away in storage. Each piece tells a story, and when shuffled, re-ordered and re-curated, the whole story of art can be told in a thousand different ways.
While you're there, why not spend a few hours getting lost inside a less-permanent exhibition. Between Two Worlds is NGV’s landmark summer show that presents the work of legendary Dutch artist M. C. Escher in a tangible and technological dialogue with the work of acclaimed Japanese design studio nendo.
Enter below for the chance to win a spot in one of the classes.
