Everybody loves a weekend market, but when you add flavoursome Thai street food and an eclectic abundance of vintage and everyday objects from all corners of the globe, you know you are in for a real treat.
This weekend, Middle Fish on Berkeley Street in Carlton will be transformed into a mini, less chaotic Chatuchak Market. Think traditional street food, cooking demonstrations and even random spot prizes up for grabs.
Mobile emporium The SuperCool is setting up shop with a brand new range of eclectic wares, this time with a distinctly Asian spin. “We try to match our wares to our surroundings,” says co-owner Kate Vandermeer.
Indeed, complementing the cleverly designed warehouse space will be a range of homewares, stationary, toys and knick knacks sourced from around the globe.
The best part? While the market only runs this weekend, The SuperCool pop-up shop will be inhabiting the cafe until Sunday August 19 to give everyone a chance to peruse their products (and to give the team a chance to sample all the menu items).
Food and shopping – there’s nothing we don’t like about this coupling.
