The annual festival that has lodged itself in our summer diaries since 1980 was first conceived to put the Saint back into St Kilda. Replacing the haunt of the red-light district with the colour and vibrancy it so deserves, this festival is one that brings the local community together and the wider community to the bayside streets.
The cleansing agents of music, art and festivity set about restoring St Kilda back to its heyday. During the festival, over 50 of our local talents will perform against the silhouette of palm trees and that uncanny Luna grin.
The coveted line-up includes psychedelic rocker sisters, Stonefield, Boom Crash Opera, Busby Marou, Alpine and Sydney electro-poppers Sneaky Sound System, alongside an outdoor cinema, beach sports, the daytime street festival with stalls and stages and the Oakley Rooftop Party to draw things to a grand close on Sunday.
St Kilda Festival runs February 4–12.
