If you think the races only happen in November, think again. There are events almost all year round, and Diamond Stakes Day on Saturday February 22 is perfect for punters looking for a spot of mid-summer racing action.
At Diamond Stakes Day, race goers will have the chance to show off their summer race wear to win at the Perri Cutten Blue Diamond Fashion Stakes. And with little chance of the surprise winds and rain that the Spring Racing Carnival is notorious for, there’s no need to pack a poncho in your picnic basket.
The hotter weather also means a more relaxed dress code. And while this means sporting summer dresses and tailored shorts on the lawns, the Members Reserve area is still the place to wear classic, elegant and traditional race wear.
Diamond Stakes Day is a public event held at the Caulfield Racecourse. All are welcome. Come for a casual picnic on the lawns, a drink or two on the lounge chairs at the Blue Diamond Bar or even try your luck on the day’s favourite horses.
The Sportingbet Blue Diamond Stakes Day is on this Saturday February 22 at Caulfield Racecourse (Station Street, Caulfield East).
Broadsheet has partnered with Melbourne Racing Club to support their events at Caulfield Racecourse.
