Over the past year, creative duo Pop & Scott (Poppy Lane and Scott Gibson) have run a creative hub for likeminded makers, forging a communal space for artisans to share tools and ideas in their field of craft, design or art.

With winter on the way out, they’ll be opening their doors for their Big Welcome Spring Sale on Saturday August 31, with works on sale for a fraction of the usual cost. The talented studio residents and their “maker friends” will be selling unique, locally designed and made products. “The sale will have beautiful silks by Tinker Maker, some beautiful framed photography prints from photographer Lisa Sorgini, as well as some gorgeous lights made out of recycled floor boards by Second Chance Tables to name a few things,” says Lane.

From textiles to cakes and ceramics, expect to see works from Tressel Table Co., recycled timber furniture from Second Chance Tables, woodwork by Sime Nugent and tableware by Anchor Ceramics. Sticky Fingers Bakery will also be there, serving coffee with their cakes and doughnut cupcakes, and the Taco Truck will be onsite for peckish shoppers.

“Pop & Scott is a design space for any person to use for any creative project,” says Lane. “It’s a great space for artists to help one another and for interesting collaborations to happen. The space is a big support network for artists and the sale will show some of the best of this”.

The Pop & Scott Big Welcome Spring Sale will take place on Saturday August 31 at the Pop & Scott Workshop Cooperative from 9am to 5pm.
