Flowers are the way to many a heart on Valentine’s Day, but where do you find a unique bouquet to truly bring your sweetheart to a blush? Well, two florists have banded together and set up a pop-up shop in the CBD that brings gorgeous blooms direct to you.

Poppy Lane, a trained floral stylist from Pop & Scott Workshop Cooperative in Northcote and Sarah Nolan from Mr Lincoln Florist on Gertrude Street know their posies. “Poppy and I had worked together previously and we’d been planning for ages to set up a place in the city specifically for Valentine’s Day posies,” says Nolan.

The shop is in an enviable position, squished snugly into the strip that includes City Wine Shop, The European and Spring Street Grocer.

The flowers are chosen fresh each morning from the growers’ market and you can find anything from fluffy hydrangeas and bright cosmos, to pastel-hued roses and more stately native blooms, all combined together into cute arrangements by the pros. “We really wanted to focus on sweet, romantic posies that showcase summer flowers,” says Nolan. “And that they are presented well and easy to transport was really important – that’s why a lot of the posies come with little animal figurines, and we give them in jars to help them last and ease transportation.”

While the focus is mainly on the posies, everything in the shop is for sale and you will find quite a few striking Pop & Scott pieces to catch your eye.

Be quick though. The ladies expect it to be very popular in the lead-up to Valentine’s Day. To ensure your beautiful posy, Nolan recommends you place an order ahead of time.
