The light and airy Chapel Street space showcases the brand's locally-designed range, which includes bedding, tableware, rugs and lighting.
Milk & Sugar creative director Cameron Taylor says they were drawn to Prahran by the resurgence of Chapel Street.
“I’ve lived around the corner from our new location for about eight years, and the area has changed so much in that time,” Taylor says.
The Milk & Sugar team designed the space themselves, opting for a very minimalist fit out that wouldn't compete with the richly patterned range.
“We didn’t want to go for anything that was too tricky or distracting,” Taylor says.
The Chapel Street store is stocked with Milk & Sugar’s recently released spring/summer range. The result of a six-month design process, the collection draws upon a sweet colour palette of navy, mint, lemon and blush pink.
Milk & Sugar was launched by Taylor and Peter Sinclair in 2009, starting with a small line of tableware. Since then the range has expanded to include bright and heavily patterned lighting, furniture, textiles. Taylor notes however that quieter pieces and solid colours are also vital to the design of a room. He points to the Victor lighting range, available in charcoal and white, as his favourite part of the current collection.
Beyond the Milk & Sugar range the Chapel Street store also stocks everything needed to fill out a room from prints by Middle of Nowhere to home fragrance from Voluspa and clutches by Elms + King.
