Design fanatics be warned – The Design Files Open House is back and following the stellar success of last year’s retail pop-up house in Fitzroy, this year the team have skipped across the river and overhauled a stunning house in Windsor.

The Open House is a physical extension of Lucy Feagins’ famed design blog, The Design Files, a home laden with gorgeous wares, hand-plucked by Feagins and her team.

Market Lane will be on hand to keep the crowd caffeinated in a flourishing courtyard and Cookes Food will ensure contented tummies. But at the end of the day, it’s all about the design.

Expect to see the vibrant illustrations and homewares from the charming Beci Orpin, artwork by David Bromley and beautiful screen-printed textiles and from the women at Harvest Textiles in Brunswick East.

Greg Hatton’s rustic furniture, made entirely from sustainable material, will also make an appearance. And among the truckloads of other homey objects, there will be pastel ceramics by Karen Morton, tableware by Dawn Vachon, artwork by Kirra Jamison and Oslo Davis, and indoor gardens by Miniscapes. Teaming up with the likes of Melbourne furniture designers Jardan and recent Aussie arrival, Finnish design house Marimekko, TDF Open House guarantees a splash of colour, as do Mini.

On Sunday from 11am to midday, interior stylist Megan Morton will also be there (in bed in her pjs) signing copies of her new book, Things I Love, with special guest Trophy Wife Nail Art.

Everything in the house is for sale, so take it as a chance to revamp your own home, or as an early Christmas shopping expedition. Unlike last year, there will be no online shopping attached to the event, but this means you'll just have to drop in.

The Design Files Open House will open its doors daily from November 29 to December 2, between 10am and 5pm.
