Gallery: Rodes Studio Vinyasa and Breathwork Session
Broadsheet Access brings the best in wellness to our members with one-off active events and recovery days, previews of soon-to-open studios, discounts on activewear and more.
Recently, Access members took time out to inhale and exhale their way through a fun wellness afternoon at Fitzroy’s Rodes Studio. The small class size meant lots of individual attention from teachers, and plenty of community vibes throughout the day.
Guests were welcomed to the compact-yet-airy space by co-owner Robyn Moir and settled in with a cup of Non Tox Tea to start. Then it was time to limber up for a Vinyasa class from Jaari Heyes, who paired dynamic movements with intentional breath for flowy, feelgood movement. The class was challenging but rewarding, and the final savasana felt well-earned.
Next up, Madeline Laura led guests through a guided breathwork class, inviting them to lie back, close their eyes and really focus on moving air through their bodies. It was a soothing and almost hypnotic session, allowing members to tap into the kind of deep breathing we often forget when life gets busy.
Post-workout, guests tucked into top-tier hot cross buns, and received complimentary tote bags with goodies from Non Tox Tea and Health Lab.
Members who attended say Rodes felt a world away from the busy streets of Fitzroy – more like the light-filled private gym of an island villa than an inner-city workout space. They also noted the breathwork session was unlike anything they’d experienced before (and well worth a go).
If you missed out on the Rodes Studio x Broadsheet Access Vinyasa and Breathwork Session, not to worry. We run health and wellness events like this all the time. Just head over to Broadsheet Access and sign up for your membership to stay in the know. To get the most out of Access, we recommend an annual membership. It’s only $12 a month.
