On Sunday April 8, Nike and Broadsheet hosted a run with a difference.
In the bright sunshine of a beautiful autumn Sunday morning, excited runners gathered at the newly refurbished Village Belle Hotel in St Kilda. Attendees were invited to try on the new Nike Epic React shoes, before warming up and taking off on a group run through the backstreets of the waterside suburb.
Upon return runners were treated to a free feast on the top level of Village Belle, overlooking green plants and busy Acland Street. The soft-shell crab bao was a hit, as was the Nutella swirl ice-cream from Pidapipo, served on-site by the Carlton gelateria’s cute mobile cart, and Baker D. Chirico's bomboloni filled with raspberry cream.
As runners wound down with refreshments, a DIY drumroll announced the two winners of the Nike Go LA competition, which will see them jet off on an adventure at the end of the month to take part in a run down an LA highway. With winners announced, the tired but happy group trickled outside to enjoy the rest of their day.
