RACV Torquay Resort
Every room has a view at the RACV Torquay Resort. The only variable? Whether you’ll be looking out over the swish resort’s golf course or the wild coastline towards Jan Juc Beach and the Bass Strait.
Expect luxury furnishings and fittings in all rooms, and the all-round usual standard of excellence that comes with the RACV brand. The premium ocean view family room is the most spacious option, with two bedrooms plus two extra rollaway beds (it sleeps up to six), while the ocean spa suite is our pick for couples that are after a bit of pampering: it boasts a private balcony and a deep Roman spa bath.
Walking tracks to beaches and through native bush are waiting outside the door, but no one will judge you if you decide to hole up at the resort and indulge in the day spa, indoor swimming pool and gym.
There are two on-site restaurants to choose from. Number One restaurant has an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs work their magic with a modern Australian menu, while White Paddock is a more casual bistro specialising in fresh-caught grilled seafood.
Golfers will be in heaven staying here, with a “Stay and Play” package giving access to a round of 18 holes for two people at the resort’s traditional links-style course, designed by former US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy.
RACV members save 5 percent on each booking, receive a $30 dining credit per day, are offered a bottle of wine on arrival and get a late 12pm check out.
