Drift House is a grand Victorian estate encompassing two buildings and six private, self-contained suites. The front half of the main building retains a charming Victorian aesthetic, while at the back, there's a modern extension clad in perforated metal with a glass link joining the two sections. In 2019, Drift House added a communal breakfast salon and a swimming pool to the complex.

Breakfast is an impressive buffet of locally sourced ingredients such as Irrewarra sourdough and house-made plum jam, coconut-milk chia puddings, cheese from Heidi Farm in Tasmania, charcuterie from Salt Kitchen in Ballarat and free-range boiled eggs. If you still have room, a slice of orange and almond breakfast cake is a nice way to end the meal.

Suites include creature comforts; from specially commissioned artwork, to luxurious sofas, mosaic-tiled bathrooms or a bathtub in the centre of the room that separates the bed from the kitchen, a huge projector screen, external electric sun blinds, a huge open balcony and a mini bar full of products by mostly small, Victorian producers. Suite 6 has also been designed with people with limited mobility in mind.
