When Jon Farrell and Brendan Kennedy opened their bar, Lulie Street Tavern, people were always asking about nearby food options. There weren’t enough of them.

The duo partnered with friend Kitty Kelso at the end of 2016 to open Kelso’s Sandwich Shoppe, a quick and affordable solution. You might order the Grilled Cheese includes mozzarella, cheddar, gruyere and parmesan butter. The colourful Tuck Shop salad sanga is another highlight.

There are also beef and plant-based burgers, hot chips, and a stack of optional add-ons you can add to any item – bacon, pickles, onions and more. To drink, it's shakes and filter coffee by Coffee Supreme.

There’s just a smidge of nostalgia inside. The walls display kitsch-y Women’s Weekly pages from various editions between 1956 and 1961, and there are some subtle Art Deco touches.
