Features
Franklin Wharf Restaurant and Bar is a crowd-pleasing waterfront diner with a casual menu, bright open interiors and more than enough room – making it a no-brainer for group bookings. It’s owned by prolific Hobart hospo company Pub Banc Group, which also runs Republic Bar & Cafe, Cargo and Observatory.
In the mornings, stop by for coffee and pastries after a walk along Hobart’s waterfront. Around lunch and dinner, casual staples like woodfired pizzas, burgers, chicken parmas and pasta are served alongside more contemporary dishes such as kingfish sashimi, or burrata on a bed of heirloom tomatoes. There are plenty of gluten-free options, and a dedicated kids menu. But the hallmark is the Franklin Wharf Catch: calamari, beer-battered fish, prawns, scallops, chips and salad – best enjoyed on the deck in front of unbeatable waterfront views.
As for drinks, there are classic cocktails (from a Tommy’s Margarita to an Old Fashioned), mostly-Tasmanian wines and a handful of beers on tap.
