Annual jazz festival bringing local and international jazz, gospel and vocal stars to Devonport.
The last weekend of July brings the sound of New Orleans to dozens of venues around Devonport for the annual jazz festival. The event has doubled its offerings since it began in 2002, playing host to alumni such as Rhonda Burchmore and James Morrison, as well as celebrating hidden gems. But it’s not just jazz standards. You’ll also find choirs, gospel, modern jazz and swing with the likes of the Nick Haywood Trio featuring Mia Palencia and classic blues from Melbourne group The Jackson Four.
The festival takes place in a variety of venues across the city, from the Entertainment Centre to community halls and cafes. This year it runs from July 27–30.
