The mighty Brodburger started small. In 2009 husband and wife Sascha and Joelle Brodbeck set up an old red caravan by Lake Burley-Griffin to sell their sizeable burgs. They’ve since grown their passion into three dine-in locations dotted across Canberra, including this spot in the iconic Glassworks buildings.

The menu of face-sized “brods” has stayed mostly the same since day one. Highlights include a classic cheeseburger; grilled chicken burger; and the veg, stuffed with layers of flame-grilled veggies, crisp haloumi and house-made chilli aioli. Beef fiends can meet their match with the deluxe burger, which weighs in at just a kilogram. It brims with two flame-grilled patties, crispy bacon, eggs, Spanish onion, house-made aioli and cheese.

Brod dogs, shoestring fries and battered onion rings round out the menu, and cans are available from local breweries Capital Brewing Co and Bentspoke.
