Jetstar is celebrating the late-June relaunch of its Brisbane-Whitsundays service with a special $39 sale on one-way flights.

The Jetstar service will recommence on June 27 and fly three times a week to and from the Whitsunday Coast Airport in Proserpine. It follows yesterday’s news that Alliance Airlines will begin flying four times a week from Brisbane to the Whitsundays after negotiating a subsidised deal with the state government. Those one-way fares start at $99 with the service commencing on June 22.

Also launched this week was Tourism Whitsundays’ Escape Winter sale, which is offering deals of up to 50 per cent off accommodation and experience in the Whitsundays.

The different promotions are intended to encourage Queenslanders to holiday within the state and help kickstart the Whitsundays’ struggling tourism sector, which after a tough few years recovering from Cyclone Debbie has been rocked further by the global Covid-19 pandemic.

"For many people who may have been to Bali or Thailand or the Greek Islands, now is your opportunity to come and support the beautiful Whitsundays," Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said in a press conference in Airlie Beach on Wednesday morning.

You’ll need to get in quick for the Jetstar tickets – the sale ends at 11.59pm this Friday June 5. Visit the airline’s website for more details.
