Stop hating and start creating: that’s the message behind the creative endeavour that is Work-Shop Brisbane. Having found its groove in Sydney and Melbourne, the project has expanded to our fine river city, thanks to intuitive owners Chester Garcia and Matt Branagan.

Brisbane manager Ellie Anderson lines up artist folk to teach classes for the time-poor, with a focus on accessible and interesting projects. As an artist herself, Anderson has made it her mission to organise events that appeal to all ages and abilities.

Affordable short courses in life skills and alternative art are held in The Autumn Co.’s premises, below Two Trees sandwich shop and the light and bright warehouse space offers a blank canvas for all kinds of art to be created.

Classes include visual arts such as watercolour, Japanese flower arranging, hand lettering and resin jewellery making, all run by local experts, as well as more performance-based options, such as how to write a pop song. Anderson is always looking for more workshop hosts, so if you’ve got a talent to pass on, get in touch.
