King of the Wings
Features
Whether you like your finger-licking poultry served saucy or crunchy, King of Wings has you covered. Fried chicken wings are the main meal as far as this aptly named mobile eatery is concerned, and it takes the dish very seriously.
Founded by husband and wife duo Dylan and Katrina Pires and billed as Australia's first US-style fried chicken food truck, the King keeps things simple but tasty. Five different flavours of freshly cooked wings will satisfy all your chicken cravings. They’re sold in packs of four to 30 alongside cans of soft drink, bottles of water, and sides of vegetarian spring rolls, samosas, rice and fries.
The signature Southern spice may be inspired by a certain famous chain, but it has a special twist. Those looking for something different might prefer the chunky Portuguese Crumb's fusion of the country's flavours; the Bee Sting's honey-dripped bites; the American BBQ with a hit of bourbon; or the chilli-heavy buffalo-inspired offerings.
Of course, with no bricks-and-mortar residence to call home, fried chicken fans best prepare to roam the city to get their fix. Thankfully, if there's a food truck gathering anywhere across the south east, King of the Wings will be there. Otherwise, it makes regular stops at Green Beacon Brewing on Wednesday evenings and at the Milton Mini Markets every Thursday at lunchtime.
