I Heart Brownies
Any place that serves an item named The Brownie Deluxe must be all right. Take a brownie of your choice (flavours include salted caramel, choc-mint, raspberry, Jaffa, among a rotating roster of others) and warm it up. Then, top it with a scoop of homemade ice cream, and a swathe of salted caramel sauce; serve.
All the folks at I Heart Brownies want to do is put a smile on your face, intolerances or no. And so, the gluten-free brownie was born. After so many requests from loyal visitors to her market stall, owner Lulu Purnell came up with the perfect recipe, and began making them in a distinctive heart shape.
After one-and-a-half years at the markets, I Heart Brownies opened their permanent location in the Bakery Lane precinct, adding hot drinks, milkshakes and housemade flavoured milks to their delicious line-up.
The Palm Springs-pink store is like a beacon to the brownie lovers out there, as are the cute 1950s uniforms. It’s for the best – the brownies are so good, you’d never know they were gluten free.
