AP Design House feels like something straight out the world’s design capital, Copenhagen. Owner and interior design guru Alexandra Ponting was inspired to create a space that didn’t follow mass produced trends and avoided cold, stark interiors.
The result is a collection of timeless pieces that are equal parts functional and stylish. Whether you’re picking up a house warming gift or searching for a custom-made chaise lounge, this is the place.
The store itself is impossible to miss. The pastel aqua exterior transformed the traditional Paddington cottage into a warm and striking landmark.
Inside everything is tailored and minimal, with a touch of grunge and quirkiness. Tropical print ottomans sit alongside mid-century pieces, weaved leather side chairs, sleek monochrome lamps and fluoro Acapulco chairs. AP Design House doesn’t have a single style – unpredictable combinations and effortless flair are what make it so chic.
As a trusted advisor to the design community, demand for Ponting’s aesthetic has seen her expand to a second store in Sydney’s Woollahra neighbourhood.
