Three mates, huge burgers and a fit-out that looks like Mad Max designed it. Welcome to Ze Pickle. After noticing so many Brisbanites making the journey to the original Burleigh Heads outpost, owners Nathan Zukerman, Joey Day and Aaron Wilson decided to set up shop in the Valley.

As with the original location, the fit-out was designed and built by the trio, along with the insanely decadent menu, which remains identical to the first.

Save up your cheat days, because you’ll probably need more than one to take down a Ze Pickle burger. With a solid selection of Wagyu beef, smoked brisket and fried chicken, the team is no stranger to taking things to the next level.

Specific next-levels include a pile of deep-fried cheese sticks; a bun made of waffled mac’n’cheese; and a glazed doughnut burger with Wagyu beef, double cheese and Nutella-smoked bacon that’s a collaboration with Doughnut Time. It’s called doughnutfuckwitdis. Really, it is.

If you still have room, try one of the more adventurous local beers on tap, including “I’m Kind of a Big Dill”, a pale ale that Ze Pickle created with Four Pines Brewing Co.

It’s Ze Pickle’s good-times spirit that makes it worth the slightly-higher-than-average burger prices. It seems that when three mates with backgrounds in sheet metal work, roofing, plumbing, DJing and surfing create a burger joint, they do it with a focus on going hard.
