Features
Tucked down Winn Lane in Fortitude Valley is a burger joint that’s taking a minimalist, perfected approach to the humble burger. To that end there are only three burgers on the menu at Ben’s: The Classic (a grass-fed beef patty, onions, lettuce, tomato, cheese); The Cheesy (The Classic without the frills); and The Vegetarian (The Classic but with Swiss cheese, and mushroom instead of beef).
Patties are cooked medium, and you can customise your burg with an extra patty, more cheese, candied bacon and jalapenos. A side of Ben’s chilli fries is a mandatory order.
Ben’s is also licensed, which means you can pull up in the laneway with a frothie from the tinned beer selection. Keeping with the retro aesthetic, Ben’s also serves housemade cherry cola and ginger ale – spike either with vodka or spiced rum for a long lunch you won’t regret.
