Co-owning one of Brisbane’s best menswear stores (Apartment) wasn’t enough for Ben Chiu. He wanted to take his for love of burgers and apply the same minimalist, perfected approach to the humble cheeseburger.
After months of research conducted around the world, he opened Ben’s Burgers with brother Nick Chiu. The pair also owns a second Ben's Burgers in West End.
There are only three burgers on the menu: The Classic (a simple beef patty, onions, lettuce, tomato and cheese); The Special (The Classic with jalapeños and special sauce); and The Vegetarian (with mushroom instead of beef).
The only rule? No alterations. You can add bacon, but that’s about it. For sides you can order fries or Ben’s chilli fries. It’s this confident belief in the product that affirms the minimalist, perfected approach.
Sit down and order a beer from the Burleigh Brewing selections on tap or a house made cherry coke and enjoy some NBA streaming.
Before 11am you can have a coffee and something from the breakfast menu, such as the sausage breakfast burger. Ben’s may not allow alterations to their burgers, but they’re so good that none are required.
