Features
Bar Rocco is the little sibling to Coorparoo’s Ramona Trattoria , one of the suburb’s favourite Italian joints. As well as being a handsome spot for pre-dinner aperitivo before heading to Ramona next door, Rocco is a handsome dining destination in its own right, offering of a menu of rustic Italian plates and pizzetta.
A woodfired grill – built by the Brick Chef’s Samuel Fraraccio – produces dishes such as Skull Island prawns with capers, herbs and lemon; and swordfish with tomatoes and olives. The aforementioned pizzetta – a great snack to share on a date – comes in toppings such as mortadella with pistachio and stracciatella; and ’nduja with honey, parmigiana and mascarpone.
This being more or less a wine bar, you’ll definitely want to order a glass. The list mainly offers Italian drops, and there are various spritzes and a Panettone-inspired Negroni if you’re thinking about a cocktail.
