After running some of the most crowd-pleasing bars in Sydney (The Tilbury and The Beach Road Hotel) and two of Brisbane’s more exotic venues (Lefty’s and Cloudland), Jacqueline Madden saw an opportunity for a sophisticated, sustainable dining option among the sea of sports bars in Paddington.
A local resident herself, Madden wanted somewhere to tick a lot of boxes – a place to grab a good coffee, linger over weekend brunch, eat a reasonably priced mid-week dinner or catch up with friends over pitcher of sangria.
The resulting venue hits all those targets. Be as casual or visible as you fit by opting either for the collection of cosy nooks, or the spacious main bar and dining area filled with greenery and natural light.
The wide-ranging menu includes granola, waffles and burrata for breakfast; zucchini flowers with Meredith Dairy goat’s cheese; and a 12-hour lamb shoulder that’s ideal for group dining.
If you’re just looking something to nibble on while working through the extensive wine and beer lists, the banh mi pork-belly sliders with chilli mayo demand your attention.
