The Ekka is back for 2019. Held over nine days in August, the Ekka – or the Royal Queensland Show, if you want to be formal – attracts around 400,000 visitors each year, making it the largest annual event in the state.
The Ekka public holiday is not only a great opportunity to check out the show but also to put your feet up on a rare Wednesday off. This year, Ekka Wednesday is on August 14. Whether you need a coffee, a beer or a meal, these hard-working cafes, bars and restaurants are staying open to sort you out.
