Three Girls Fishing
At Three Girls Fishing, not only is everything made in-house from scratch, but all the seafood is crumbed and battered to order. This isn’t your fancy, new-school fish and chipper, though.
It has a simple, coeliac-friendly offering of fish (battered, crumbed or grilled), oysters (served natural or kilpatrick), crumbed calamari, burgers (including a Southern-style buttermilk fried chicken burg) and chip butties. Plus, a few sides such as slaw and soba noodle salad, potato scallops and crisp golden chips.
The simple, no-frills space has a cabinet filled with fresh fish and salads, a few tables outside and that’s it. Instead, the focus is squarely on the food. Three Girls Fishing sources its fish from Australian and New Zealand waters – there’s barramundi, gold-band snapper, cod, and a fish of the day.
For drinks, you can BYO booze or choose from a range of soft drinks, milkshakes and thickshakes. There’s also a soft-serve machine that churns out house-made vanilla bean ice-cream. You can have it with homemade malted-chocolate sauce, or warm apple crumble and salted caramel.
