Reverends Fine Coffee
Features
If the name doesn’t hint at owner Luke Andrews’ former life as a pastor, then perhaps its church pew fixtures and aptly named Spirit Triplette espresso machine will.
Deep plum, currant and cherry notes make up Reverends’ house blend (fittingly called Purple Haze), supplied by local roaster Uncle Joes. Team it with creamy Maleny milk and you get a good velvety latte.
Reverends also hosts special guest blends such as the malty Konga Keble Yirgacheffe and the cheekily named Gold Coast Coffee Project, a fragrant medley of caramelised pineapple, banana and rum notes.
Meanwhile, single origin beans such as the Ethiopian Sidamo are paraded on rotation with the Chemex and Aeropress doing the work for filter coffee lovers.
It’s also easy to stay for Reverends’ ever-changing brunch selection – we’re talking poached eggs with Swiss chard, heirloom tomatoes and jamon on toast; and dairy-free Bircher muesli with coconut yoghurt.
For those with only church collection change to spare, go for the freshly baked raspberry muffins or gluten-free doughnuts supplied by Nodo every Wednesday.
