National Burger Day. World Nutella Day. National Doughnut Day. National Cream Filled Doughnut Day (?). Surely they’re running out of days.

Still, National Chicken Wing Day dates back farther than most; Buffalo, New York mayor Stan Makowski created the event back in 1977. That, of course, was in the United States, so perhaps by now it should be known as International Chicken Wing Day.

Whatever: next Saturday July 29 will be given over to the chicken wing, and Lord of the Wings’ Indooroopilly and Carindale outlets are celebrating by handing out free wings. Visit between 12pm and 3pm and you’ll receive a pack of three traditional American-style buffalo wings. You can also expect in-store entertainment such as jugglers, caricaturists and stilt walkers.

For those who like to play along at home, you’ll receive a free serve of wings when you place a Lord of the Wings order through Deliveroo.

You know what to do.
