Tomorrow is National S’mores Day in the United States.

What is a s’more, you ask? Traditionally, it’s an American confection of toasted marshmallow, chocolate and a couple of graham crackers. Invented by Girl Scouts, it’s the perfect accompaniment for relaxing around the campfire (after you’ve made said campfire with a couple of damp twigs and your mum’s handkerchief, of course).

Burger joint Brooklyn Depot’s are a little more decadent, kicking up the chocolate and marshmallow quotient to create a proper, sticky mess. And tomorrow, in celebration of National S’mores Day, the South Brisbane restaurant is serving up its s’mores for just $1 each.

There’s a method to this diet-killing madness: the promotion doubling as a launch for Brooklyn Depot’s revised menu, which features new dishes such as chicken waffles, lobster mac‘n’cheese and a French dip sandwich.

The $1 s’mores are available from 11am until closing time tomorrow.
