Is there any end to local entrepreneur Damian Griffiths’s quest to have a cake shop, doughnut shop or ice-cream parlour on every corner in Brisbane? Or indeed, Melbourne and Sydney?
Apparently not. His latest project – Chester Street Cake Shop for Brisbane CBD. Opening next Tuesday (July 25), the third Chester Street outlet after Newstead and South Bank will be located at the entrance to King George Square Bus Station – open Monday to Friday, catering for big-smoke patrons who can’t confine their sweet tooth to the weekend.
The best part: on opening day Chester Street Cake Shop is giving away free slices of its rainbow, red velvet and death by chocolate cakes, between 3pm and 5pm. All are outrageous, and all will be on offer for absolutely free until sold out.
First in, first served. Walk, don’t run. Et cetera.
