This year’s World Class Cocktail Week will play host to over 15 events celebrating all things cocktail. From designing your own gin, to cocktails on a pop-up beach, here’s the ones not to be missed.
That Gin Thing at Pony Dining
Design your own flavoured gin with the help of Pony Dining’s bartenders. Choose your own botanicals and gin, and experiment with flavours and combinations for a fresh take on the classic G&T. Try try saffron- or hibiscus-infused gin created behind the bar, or tweak a more traditional combination. You can also choose to enjoy your designer cocktails with matched food.
May 7–13, 12pm
Brisbane’s Best Bartenders at Maker
Five bartenders from Maker featured in the 2017 World Class Top 100 bartenders list – Ellery Lowe, Elliot Pascoe, Dan Gregory, Ewan Winter and Edward Quatermass. To celebrate they’ll recreate all five of their competition cocktails. Two will be served in a pop-up beach with coal-grilled seafood; the remaining three will be available inside with the regular food and drink menu.

Cocktails in Your Kitchen at Cobbler
Learn how to make quality cocktails at home without the fancy equipment, from bartenders at Cobbler. They’ll show you how to use an empty ice-cream container to create perfect clear ice and how to make more than just smoothies with your Nutribullet. Recipes will range from Whisky Sours to Old Fashioneds, and you’ll leave with recipes and samples.

Classic Cocktail Masterclass at Canvas
Canvas’s World Class head bartender Tristan Green will host a masterclass for one night only. He won the national final of Diageo’s 2016 Steeped & Spritzed Cocktail Competition and made the Australian Top 100 for Diageo’s World Class Bartender of the Year. He’ll present a cocktail on arrival followed by two to drink while you learn about their histories. Served with antipasto and cheese, house-made dips and skinny fries.

New Orleans Cocktail Dinner at Seymour’s Cocktails and Oysters
Take a trip through the history of New Orleans cocktails and cuisine at this one-off World Class Cocktail Week event. The night will feature four courses of cocktails and matched dishes of smoky, spicy flavours, inspired by historic New Orleans bars and restaurants.
