Sink a quick drink, take a few snaps – then plunge 17 metres to the ground. This truly is a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience.

We get a lot of emails about dining experiences that are described as “unique”. Often, they’re not.

But Vertigo’s Drink & Drop, a special promotion for the second anniversary of the Powerhouse’s rooftop venue, is truly the first of its kind.

Vertigo is suspended from the side of Brisbane’s Powerhouse Museum. When it opened in 2023, we sent writer Katrina Meynink up to face her fears – heights and camel toe – and to dangle for a three-course dinner.

To celebrate two years of successfully (and safely) hosting and hoisting Brisbane diners at its lofty restaurant, Vertigo has launched Drink & Drop.

For $29, you’ll be harnessed and hoisted up the side of the building to enjoy a drink and take in the view. Once you’ve had your final sip, you’ll step straight off the side of the building and drop 17 metres to the ground.

The whole death-defying, daredevil experience will only take 40 minutes. It’s both cheaper and quicker than Vertigo’s standard dinner bookings, which cost $250.

Once you’re done, you’re free to explore the Powerhouse’s land-based offerings, which this month includes Melt Festival, Night Feast and the Brisbane Writers Festival.

Drink & Drop runs from October 1 to 31. No bookings.
