The notoriously quiet restaurant trade months of January and February have claimed another victim with The Survey Co closing in Brisbane’s CBD.

Simon Livingstone’s popular Burnett Lane eatery quietly wrapped up operations earlier this week, with liquidator Ginette Muller now looking for a buyer, the Courier Mail reports.

Muller told the Courier Mail everything is ready for a new owner with the restaurant’s tables still set. A decline in lunchtime trade is thought to be behind the closure.

The Survey Co was one of the first eateries to open in Burnett Lane in 2012. Housed in an old brick warehouse, the restaurant referenced the laneway’s forefather, James Charles Burnett, who sketched the city’s topography from an office here in the 1840s.

The news follows the closure of TJ Peabody’s Burnt Ends and Nativo last month.
