Brent and Kylie Farrell have sold Slack's Track, the Mount Gravatt cafe they opened in 2016.

The early morning starts at the cafe, coupled with the late finishes at their highly respected Toowong restaurant 85 Miskin St, took its toll on the hard-working couple.

“It’s too much physical work for Kylie and I,” Brent says. “The both of us will go back to concentrating on 85 Miskin St and maybe have some time to start a family.”

The Farrells sold the cafe to another husband-and-wife team, Josh and Louise Daly.

“This is our first cafe and you always worry about how people are going to perceive you,” Josh says. “[Brent and Kylie] took us in and have given us lots of help and tried to make the process of buying very simple.”

The Dalys will renovate the space, extending the kitchen and adding some bench seating. The cafe will be called Little Black Pug, a nod to the couple’s young black pugs, Bowie and Mate. They aim to re-open in April.
