In a bizarre incident, riverside bar Mr Percival’s has been hit by gun shots just weeks after it was firebombed, the ABC reports.

The shots came from a boat on the river carrying between three and four people, police said in a media release.

In a statement supplied to the ABC, Howard Smith Wharves CEO Luke Fraser said “an incident occurred at Mr Percival’s when it was closed and shots were fired around 2am from the river”.

“Safety is our top priority and thankfully no one was injured as it occurred outside opening hours with no guests inside, however there was a small amount of damage to the venue,” Fraser said.

“We are assisting police with their investigation and working with them to implement increased security measures.”

Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing. The ABC reports that police are not currently connecting the gun shots with the firebomb attack that took place at Mr Percival’s in the early hours of December 21, which left the bar with minor damage. Investigations into that incident are also ongoing.
