Newmarket Village is launching a new cinema and dining precinct this weekend and to celebrate Gelato Messina is running a Pulp Fiction-inspired milkshake bar.

Messina will offer salted caramel; chocolate fondant; and coconut and lychee milkshakes to attendees of the brand new Reading Cinemas’ For the Love of Film village party.

Besides Messina’s Pulp Fiction-inspired bar, the free basement block party will feature soundtrack-flipping DJ sets and what is promised to be some Insta-worthy recreations of scenes from Forrest Gump, Indiana Jones and Up. There are also free cocktail-making masterclasses conducted by Shaun Byrne of Melbourne’s Gin Palace and a Jedi training academy event featuring the virtual-reality game Trials of Tatooine.

The For the Love of Film Village Party takes place underneath Reading Cinemas at Newmarket Village, 400 Newmarket Road this Saturday and Sunday December 16 and 17. More information here. Entry is free. Book a cult-classic cocktail masterclass here.
