Portside Wharf is hosting a massive chocolate festival next month. On Sunday July 7 Chocfest will take over the Hamilton precinct, peddling an array of chocolate treats, chocolate cocktails and other cocoa-themed delights.
A bunch of operators are getting involved, with the Burrito Bar serving chocolate nachos and chocolate churros tacos; Hello Harry whizzing up honeycomb crumble shakes; Byblos serving chocolate sambouseks; Cruisers Alfresco flipping chocolate brownies, salted caramel chocolate tarts, cherry ripe slices and Italian hot chocolates; and Gusto da Gianni firing off Nutella pizzas.
For drinks, Byblos is pouring a Dark Desire cocktail with chocolate, mint and cream, and a Milky Bar Martini mixed with white chocolate. Gusto Da Gianni, meanwhile, is serving its Dark Chocolate Borghetti cocktail – a specialty Italian coffee liqueur with dark chocolate ice cream.
Elsewhere, highfalutin chocolatier Mayfield Chocolates is popping up on the day, while Dendy Cinemas Portside is screening the classic French film Chocolat at 2pm.
For kids, there will be free face painting and balloon sculpting. Also the first 500 people through the gates will get a free cookie from a giant cookie tree.
Chocfest takes over Portside Wharf on Sunday July 7 10am to 2pm. Entry is free. For more information see here.
