Every year we ask Brisbane chefs where they go for fish’n’chips; Kangaroo Point’s One Fish Two Fish always comes up.

On January 17, owners Daniel Miletic and Amelia Taylor took to Instagram to announce that the restaurant would close over the Easter long weekend.

“After six incredible years, it’s time for us to share some bittersweet news – One Fish Two Fish will be closing its doors at the end of April as our lease has come to an end. … We would like to sincerely thank you for showing the incredible support you showed One Fish Two Fish over the years – especially through the wild rollercoaster that was Covid. Some of you started as valued customers, but we end this chapter as friends and we couldn’t be more grateful for the love.”

The restaurant opened in 2019 in an old Queenslander in Kangaroo Point. It quickly became a local favourite with a bar area, salmon sashimi, whole fish, flounder burgers, “sea-cuterie” and, of course, fish’n’chips.

The couple’s Fish Lane cocktail bar, Midtown, will continue to operate. Seafood still features on the menu with oysters, Gildas, swimmer crab toast, lobster croissants and crab tortellini.

The statement continues: “In the meantime, we’re not done yet at One Fish Two Fish. We’re finishing this chapter on a high and have an exciting lineup of events and hope to see you for one last hoorah (or several) before we turn out the lights for the final time.”

A string of events is planned for the final few weeks of operation, including Love Bug a Moreton Bay bug four-course menu that’ll run from February 12 to February 16 in line with Valentine’s Day, and Crab & Cray Cray, a five-course menu of crab and crayfish that will run through March.

Anyone looking to get one last hit of One Fish Two Fish is encouraged to book – the restaurant has said its received an influx of reservations since announcing their closure.
