Anyone in the dating game will tell you the “Where should we go for dinner?” debate is a backing track to most relationships. So whether it’s a first date, a fiftieth or even an anniversary, let these local hospo pros cut through the noise and make the choice for you.
Here’s where these local chefs and bartenders go for a special date night.
Leaham Claydon and Jianne Jeoung of Snug
Bar Francine in West End is our place to celebrate anything as big as an anniversary or as small as finishing another week of work. Great wine list with a well-balanced menu. The most pesco-friendly place in Brisbane.
Louis Tikaram of Stanley and Stan’s
Martin Boetz’s spot in the Valley Short Grain! Really great service and a beautiful space – it’s perfect for a nice date night with my wife.
Alessandro Pizzolato of Supernormal Brisbane
Hellenika, SK Steak & Oyster and Sushi Room are always my first choice. I love what they do, and you can feel the pride and care filtering through all aspects of the experience. I never had a bad night when visiting.
Dario Manca of Attmi
I’m biased, but I think Attimi is a perfect spot for a date night. Although, if I’m not self-promoting, I believe Essa is great. The layout of the restaurant means each table has great privacy. And of course, the food is great.
George Curtis of Before & After and Milquetoast
Hopefully I impress my partner enough as it is, but if not, I’d take her to Restaurant Labart on the Gold Coast. It’s legitimately one of the best restaurants in the country with incredible service and food worth travelling and staying over for.
