The James Street Food and Wine Trail is back for 2019 – and this year the festival is expanding, running over four days in late July.
Starting Thursday July 25, expect a shedload of pop-ups and special menu items at the precinct’s restaurants and cafes. Highlights include an intimate Greek wine tasting at Hellenika, a duck feast at Chow House, a five-course dinner with paired wine at King Arthur, and collaborations between Gelato Messina and Hellenika – and that’s just the start.
As usual, the trail will finish with its main event Market Day on the Sunday. That’s when James Street becomes an enormous playground for both adults and kids, home to three live music stages and 28 stalls run by local food and beverage operators. There’ll also be live chef demonstrations from Adam Wolfers (Gerard’s Bistro), Shaun Malone (Bucci) and Bryan Kelly (Hellenika) at the Ilve pop-up kitchen.
