Indie Spirits Tasting returns to Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall this Sunday. If you haven’t been, the equation is simple: 30 exhibitors showcasing more than 100 craft spirits ranging from gins and mezcals to amaros, grappas and more.
Presented by Australian Bartender magazine, the event will also have master distillers on hand to chat about their products and feature a bunch of free seminars that will dive deep into the world of independent spirits.
Indie Spirits organiser (and Australian Bartender editor) David Spanton reckons this year’s event will be the largest-ever showcase of Australian craft spirits under one roof. Newcomers in 2019 include Lord Byron Distillery, a sustainability-focused facility operating out of Byron Bay that produces rhum, vodka, limoncello and gin. And Brix Distillers, which makes rums in an urban distillery in Sydney’s Surry Hills. Locals such as Milton Rums, Laceys Hill Distilling Co, and Finesse Vodka and Gin will also be making an appearance. Otherwise, you can sample rums from Venezuela, a fig liqueur, amaro, tequilas, mezcals, American whiskeys and more.
The $55 ticket price (plus a booking fee) includes access to all spirit samples and seminars, live music, and a Lefty’s burger with fries. You can also buy bottles of hard-to-find hooch directly from exhibitors. Easy.
Indie Spirits Tasting takes over Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall this Sunday May 26. Tickets are available here.
