From the creative team that keeps on giving, gelato appreciation classes are now available to book at Gelato Messina’s South Brisbane store. Described as a “part gelato making class, part info session, part science lesson and part gelato degustation”, there’s a good chance these events will sell out.
“When we originally designed the store, it was built with the classroom similar to the Sydney store,” says content and brand manager Sian Bishop. “It was always the intention to offer weekly classes.”
Already popular in Sydney and Melbourne, the classes offer Messina fans a chance to see how gelato is made, watch the chefs create one-of-a-kind gelato cakes and get a taste of the behind-the-scenes action in the kitchen. Each participant also takes home a half-litre tub of gelato and will of course get to sample the freshly churned stuff on the day.
With a warning advising ice-cream lovers to avoid breakfast beforehand, these classes probably aren’t for the faint of heart. There are currently three dates available between mid-July and mid-September.
